Dissertation Abstract

Abstract

‘This text explores ideas of the nude, censorship and voyeurism. This is done so by exploring a timeline of the nude, through key figures, in the first chapter. The second chapter begins to explore censorship, how it has previously restricted both text and art. Furthermore, its development through sexual revolution to the present day, and how it can be used as an artistic tool. Within the third chapter we can continue to explore the audience’s role as the voyeur by two key artists. The final chapter of images uses the idea of censorship to complete this document.’ (Williams, 2014)
